Konnichiwa!
What has happened since the last time I updated my award-winning blog? A heck of a lot.
Last week, the chemistry lab sessions began. 3 hour blocks cemented on Monday and Tuesday afternoons. Truly painful! And they're nothing like biology practicals where we actually know what we're doing. Here we are left all alone asking one another "Do you know what we're doing?" and the answer is usually a "no".
Tuesday's was truly painful as a handful of us including myself finished almost 30 minutes past the 3-hour mark (OUCH) and had no choice but to miss the following biochemistry lecture, especially considering it would take 5-10 minutes alone to walk to the building where it was taking place. Damn chemistry.
And the same almost happened only yesterday as well, but let's leave that for now/forever.
Anyhow, I went back to my flat and then straight to the station on Tuesday evening last week as I was celebrating Eid at home with la familia. Or should I say, going to my brother's graduation ceremony at his university on Eid day. Yes. He always spoils things damnit.
But it was fun! And surprisingly, we did not feel a true sense of urgency (i.e. Bourne-ness) due to it turning out to be a spectacularly pleasant day. (We thought the whole plan of Eid being on the same day was going to press us for time.)
As for the ceremony itself, I must say, it was rather delightful and ceremonial. Much better than my sister's ceremony (but we're still proud of you, ahem). Also: I was able to mentally revisit the painful sixth form trip by entering the wonderful Harold Wilson building (it was raining outside and we needed protection).
Interesting highlight: the absence of the chancellor of the university. Interesting highlight: the presence of the chancellor via a pre-recorded video projected to us all:
And yes, Patrick Stewart was on the Starship Enterprise at the time, clearly.
Since then? University-ness, an incredible amount of work and the drinking of Frijj once again.
Also, I rewatched The Dark Knight in all its glory not too long ago and intend to do the same with what is still an utter masterpiece: Requiem For a Dream. Yes I said it...
Other interesting news: the maths module has begun. The lecturer is an outright dick, it is safe to say. Nothing to add to that really.
And it snowed ever so slightly last night. And then this morning. And for the most part of this evening. Walking to campus tomorrow is going to be painful. Especially with the fact I'll be going back and forth three times. Damn the spreading out of lectures. However, "the decision" will be made tomorrow/Friday morning with regards to making an intermediate visit to the home land.
Listen to? Spin Doctors - "Two Princes". One of those songs you may have heard before but never had a title or artist name to it. I was made to listen to it not so long ago by Hummus. And again not so long ago. Great song.
Wet dreams.
Emad.

'Do you know what we're doing' brings back school memories...of every single chemistry lesson in a lab, lol :P Damn Lund and his lack-of-experiment-instructions policy ¬_¬
Yes. Just leave all painful overrunning of stuff now/forever.
I love that you incorporated the Patrick Stewart line! Not that you've used it before.. :| Ahem.
FRIJJ!
Never rewatch Requiem for a Dream (Y)
Also: SNOWWWWWW! :D :D Make a snowman! Just..somehow, make a snowman!
And yes, awesome song :)
*waaaves*
I love that jug in the background of Patrick Stewart's photo :) Makes you wonder where he really is...
Oooh, chem labs. Hope they get better :) Chin up, they will, you just have to settle in :D
@Hummus: Damnit, you're right! Lund was the same!
FRIJJ!
And rewatch Requiem For a Dream damnit or else I will feel bad for doing so myself!
And Newcastle snow is NOT cool. Mark my words woman.
@Other-Hummus: I was wondering whether or not to say anything about the jug but knew someone would say something lol. It's insane!
"Chin up"?! Eww! =P Chemistry labs are HORRIBLE. Again, mark my words...
Ahem.
=)
Lol. Fine, not chin up. *Insert appropriate motivational phrase here* :D Better?
I hate the snow too this year :D
MUCH better =P
And yay for hating snow also!
